Job Description Job Description Now Hiring: Commercial Maintenance Technician – Full-Time Location: Birmingham, AL Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, On-Call Rotation Required Pay: $23/hour A Birmingham-based Commercial Real Estate Company is seeking a full-time Commercial Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of properties across our management portfolio. This role plays a key part in preserving and enhancing the value, safety, and appearance of our clients’ real estate assets. Key Responsibilities Perform general repairs, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of commercial buildings Conduct routine property inspections to ensure vendor work quality, identify repair needs, and maintain clean, safe environments Report any issues or deficiencies to the property manager and maintenance coordinator Develop and carry out preventive maintenance schedules for facilities and equipment Submit detailed monthly property inspection reports Assist in gathering contractor bids and repair cost estimates Communicate daily with property management team to provide updates and receive assignments Respond promptly and professionally to tenant requests via the Skyline Work Order System Serve in after-hours on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs Interact courteously with tenants, clients, and contractors Maintain a professional appearance and uphold industry safety and quality standards Perform duties including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general building repairs Requirements High School Diploma or GED 3–5 years of commercial property maintenance experience HVAC systems knowledge required Strong understanding of tools, equipment, and materials used in building and grounds maintenance Skilled in basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (subject to periodic checks) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient with email and computer systems Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, professional, and safety-minded If you're a hands-on problem solver with a solid background in commercial building maintenance, we want to hear from you!
