Job Description Job Description Must have completed Behavior
Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1 years
Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. A Behavior Specialist
position is available in a K-12 school setting in Pelham, AL,
supporting a 1:1 caseload with a student exhibiting mild to severe
behaviors. This contract role spans the current school year, with
onsite hours from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM totaling 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized behavior support to a
sixth-grade student with low IQ and behavioral challenges,
including respect issues toward female staff. Implement Applied
Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and utilize de-escalation
techniques to promote a positive learning environment. Collaborate
closely with involved parents and school personnel to ensure
continuity of care and progress. Participate in prescreening
assessments as requested. Maintain confidentiality and complete
required fingerprinting through the ALSDE. Qualifications and
Experience: Male candidates only, due to specific student needs.
Experience in ABA therapy or possession of an active or inactive
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. Certification
in CPI or equivalent de-escalation training is mandatory;
submission of the certificate with the application is required.
Flexibility and patience in managing behaviors ranging from mild to
