(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.

considered. A school-based Sign Language Interpreter position is
available in Birmingham, AL, offering a dynamic role supporting
students with hearing impairments. This role involves working in an
educational environment, ensuring effective communication between
deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers, peers, and
school staff. The position requires traveling between school sites
to provide interpreting services as needed. Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear and accurate communication by interpreting spoken
language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa. Support
students in classroom settings, extracurricular activities, and
school events. Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families
to enhance educational outcomes. Maintain confidentiality and
professionalism at all times. Travel between assigned schools
within the area to fulfill interpreting assignments. Qualifications
and Desired Experience: Proficient in American Sign Language and
skilled in interpretation. Previous experience working as a sign
language interpreter in educational settings preferred. Strong
understanding of Deaf culture and communication needs. Ability to
work independently and in team settings. Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills. Reliable with capacity to travel as
