Job Description Job Description GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs
skilled work in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of
automobiles and medium-duty diesel vehicles in a safe and efficient
manner. This includes diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues,
performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring vehicles operate
safely and efficiently. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: · Inspect,
diagnose, maintain and repair automotive systems, including
engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension. · Perform
routine and preventive maintenance on gasoline and diesel-powered
vehicles. · Specialize in medium-duty diesel engines, including
troubleshooting and repair of fuel systems, emissions, and
electronic controls. · Use diagnostic tools and software to
identify issues and recommend solutions. · Maintain accurate
service records and ensure compliance with safety standards. ·
Order and maintain parts, tools, and equipment as needed. · Assist
with and/or perform additional duties as required by operating
needs or as directed by management. · May be required to work
non-regular hours. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience:
· High School diploma or GED required; technical certification in
automotive or diesel technology preferred. · Minimum 2 years of
experience in automotive repair, with at least 1 year focused on
medium-duty diesel engines. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ·
Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diesel engines, and
diagnostic procedures. · Ability to interpret technical manuals and
schematics. · Familiarity with federal and state safety regulations
for vehicle maintenance. · Requires following strict safety
protocols and ability to ensure all applicable safety practices are
in place and followed. · Strong mechanical aptitude. · Ability to
exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting
rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. · Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships. · Ability
to work independently with minimal supervision and follow
directions. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Conditions: · Primarily indoor
shop environment with occasional outdoor work. Exposure to extreme
temperatures, wet or humid conditions, and outdoor weather.
Risk/Safety: · Exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery,
electrical shock, vibration, airborne particles, loud noise, high
places, hazardous materials. Physical Activities: · Walking,
sitting, standing, climbing, crawling, stooping, crouching,
talking, hearing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth
perception. · Regularly lift up to 40 lbs; occasionally lift up to
