Job Description Job Description Job Title: Design Engineer Job Description Join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting the Large Wheel Loaders and Wheel Tractor Scrapers by focusing on engine installation and cooling systems. Located in Decatur, IL, this position involves working closely with on-site manufacturing to ensure machines are built correctly and operate reliably. The role emphasizes updating and modernizing existing machine technology. While there is collaboration with an international team in India, the core work is hands-on and local, allowing for efficient problem-solving. Responsibilities Support products already in production by working directly with manufacturing teams on assembly issues. Troubleshoot problems found on the shop floor. Help resolve field issues seen by customers. Contribute to new product or update work depending on skill set and experience. Interact regularly with production and manufacturing teams in Decatur. Essential Skills Design engineering experience. Experience in engine installation and/or cooling systems. Strong mechanical aptitude, especially related to manufacturing and assembly processes. Experience troubleshooting real-world product or manufacturing issues. Ability to work on-site in Decatur, IL. Engineering degree in Mechanical or related discipline. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience with engine installation design. Familiarity with the company's products, processes, or Creo. Experience supporting current product maintenance (CPI) in a manufacturing environment. Ability to contribute to API / new product or technology update work. History of longer-term roles, demonstrating stability. Work Environment Work is conducted on-site in Decatur, IL, providing hands-on problem solving in collaboration with on-site manufacturing teams. The environment is fast-paced, focusing on maintaining and updating existing technologies rather than developing new platforms. Regular interaction with production teams is essential to ensure reliable machine operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Decatur, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
