Job Description:
Under general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the
Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying
referral sources and developing a strategy to generate growth.
Assess market opportunities, develop specific market business plans
within the overall hospital business plan, manage, implement and
evaluate activities of the plans. Facilitate open communication
between the hospital, physician practices, and referral sources
providing high-touch customer service, prompt issue resolution, and
strategic planning activities designed to grow market share.Every

- Performs strategic business planning and assists in the
development and implementation of the hospital business plan to
drive service-line growth and improve operations in terms of
quality and processes. Provides technical expertise, support and
oversight in the development, modification, feedback and
implementation of the business plan.
- Works with executives and leaders to establish growth
strategies aligned with local strategic plans and overall market
priorities.
- Supervises and oversees new business developments, market
research, feasibility studies, market analyses, and other relevant
business assessment techniques to support prudent
decision-making.
- Evaluates, analyzes, and interprets market demographics,
including population, age, gender, race, and projected trends for
both physicians and patient population.
- Evaluates and recommend new program initiatives, working with
service line management and managing related implementation,
tracking and evaluation processes for business activities.
- Develops goals and timelines for closing new or enhanced
physician referrals. Serves as a liaison between physicians and
administration with internal constituents (physicians, other
departments) and external constituents (referring physicians,
clients, and marketplace).
- Develops and implements marketing strategies that align with
hospital goals and strategies, overseeing advertising, social
media, and the content developed by a third party marketing
agency.
- Collaborates with local organizations conducive to Public
Relations development, serving as liaison to all audiences for
issues related to business development and marketing.
- Conducts strategic outreach initiatives to increase referral
volumes and positive referring provider perceptions between
internal and external referral sources. Collects and analyzes
referral data and works with Executive Team to determine priorities
for growing market share.
- Establishes and maintains ongoing communication with referring
providers and/or office staff, including routine or follow-up
visits, emails, and phone calls. Facilitates physician-to-physician
meetings to establish and develop referral relationships and
monitors referral outcomes.
- Promptly notifies Practice Administrator, Medical Director
and/or Executive Team of any concerns or problems related to
referral source satisfaction and works in partnership with that
team to provide appropriate service recovery. Delivers timely issue
resolution between referral sources and the hospital and/or
practices to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Promotes provider engagement including involvement in new
provider orientation, site visits, rounds, referral dinners &
lunches, CMEs, etc.
- Provides market intelligence to organizational leadership,
identifying potential opportunities and/or competitor changes in
the local healthcare landscape as needed.
- Abides by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and appropriate handling of
PHI.
- Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns
appropriately.

medical staff, patients, and visitors.QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare marketing, business
development, or related roleLicense/Certification: None

developing and implementing strategic business plans, marketing and
communications plans - Ability to leverage market analytics,
financial forecasts, competitive data sets, & demand forecasting to
ensure that marketing and communication investments are linked to
financial/strategic targets. - Strong understanding of healthcare
trends, regulations, and best practices - Strong strategic thinking
and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal
communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate
complex information to various audiences. Excellent presentation

management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
