Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with stepdown experience to provide exceptional care in a specialized cardiac unit. This contract position is based in Bessemer, AL, offering an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, cardiology-focused environment supporting patients with complex cardiac conditions. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with coronary artery disease, post-CABG, dysrhythmias, and other cardiac conditions Monitor patient status closely, managing cardiac short stay, chest pain observation, and post-operative cardiac care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during cardiac catheterizations, open-heart surgeries, ablations, and ICD procedures Utilize Epic for accurate and timely electronic charting Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4 to ensure quality personalized care Qualifications and Experience: Active RN license with Stepdown nursing expertise Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Comfortable working 12-hour shifts (1900-0700) with 36 or 48 hours per week schedule Available for weekend shifts every other weekend Experience with cardiac patients and related procedures preferred Ability to wear navy blue scrubs as per department standard Location:This role is based in Bessemer, AL, a vibrant community with access to cultural attractions, outdoor activities, and southern charm.
