Baptist Medical Center East is home to a state of the art labor and delivery center that includes 16 LDR rooms, a 12 bed high risk antepartum unit, and an 8 bed OB Emergency Department. It also houses 52 newly constructed postpartum rooms and a Level III NICU to provide specialized, high-risk neonatal care. The hospital is home to approximately 4,000 babies each year, making it the second largest delivering hospital in the Alabama. Baptist Medical Center East also features Maternal Fetal Medicine support and boasts the only MFM telemedicine clinic in the state.
