Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CVOR - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Days, 5x8hrs - Hours: 40 hrs/wk - Start Date: Mar 30, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular OR/CVOR position at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL, requiring strong CVOR experience including open heart, CABG, and TAVR procedures. Details - Work in a 15-bed OR suite (2 dedicated CVOR rooms) within a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center - Patient population includes open heart, CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and ECMO, with minimal pediatric cases (typically ortho) - Additional case types include trauma, neuro, general, vascular (including endovascular), ENT, ortho spine, total joint, GYN, urology, robotics (general and neuro), plastics, breast, and eyes - 1:1 patient ratio - Circulator role only - 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, starting at 6:00 AM - Weekend on-call rotation required; approximately 10 call days per month (1 weekday and 1 weekend per month: Friday 3:00 PM–7:00 AM, Saturday 24 hours, Sunday 24 hours) - 30-minute response time required for on-call - No floating required - EMR: Cerner (Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Spacelabs monitors) Requirements - Active AL RN license or compact RN license required (pending license with ETA acceptable at time of consideration) - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - Minimum 2 years of OR/CVOR experience required; candidates with only 1 year of experience will not be considered - Strong CVOR experience required, including open heart, CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and ECMO - Broad OR experience required across trauma (no burns), neuro, general, vascular, ENT, ortho spine, total joint, GYN, urology, robotics, plastics, breast, and eye cases - Total joint experience required - Robotic experience preferred (Mazor/DaVinci XI) - Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible - Reference from a charge nurse or above within the past 12 months required for consideration - DOB (day and month) and full SSN required for consideration - Copy of current certifications required for consideration Additional Information - Orientation is 2 weeks on day shift; buddy call is expected during orientation - Support structure includes an ORA, desk assistant, charge nurse, and team leaders for each service line - One holiday worked per contract is expected - First-time travelers are welcome to apply with at least 2 years of experience - Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler - An interview with the hiring manager is required prior to any offer American Traveler Job ID P-683734.
