cross-functional teams, and contributes to the design and
development of scalable full-stack applications. You will work on
high-performance backend systems, modern web applications, and
real-time services leveraging technologies such as gRPC and
socket-based servers. For this role, you will participate in
full-stack development of various micro-services which communicate
with a combination of Socket and RPC connections. This can include
modeling threats, sensors, weapons, and more; writing algorithms to
facilitate automatic emplacement of these items; designing usable
front-end interfaces for these systems; and optimizing runtimes.
You may come into contact with various AI/ML efforts along the way
– familiarity with those technologies is an added bonus. Must have
an active and transferable DoD security clearance with current
investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain the
required clearance Required Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree
in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, or a
closely related technical field. Master’s degree or PhD strongly
preferred. Minimum 10 years of professional experience developing
and implementing complex algorithms and high-performance software
systems. Strong proficiency in Rust and Python (primary languages),
with solid working experience in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript .
Demonstrated experience designing, coding, and optimizing complex
algorithms for real-time or near-real-time applications. Experience
developing full-stack applications (frontend backend). Hands-on
experience with command-and-control (C2) solutions for military
systems, preferably in missile defense or related domains. Solid
understanding of: RESTful APIs, gRPC services, and socket-based
communication Microservices architecture Database systems (SQL
and/or NoSQL) Version control (Git) Experience with asynchronous
and concurrent programming patterns. Proven ability to work in
classified or high-security environments (U.S. citizenship
required; active or ability to obtain Secret clearance highly
desired). Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain
full-stack command-and-control applications with heavy emphasis on
complex algorithm implementation in Rust and Python. Build
scalable, high-performance backend services using gRPC,
socket-based communication, and microservices architectures.
Develop responsive, intuitive front-end interfaces that support
real-time situational awareness and operator decision-making.
Translate complex missile-defense requirements into robust,
efficient, and testable algorithms and software solutions.
Collaborate closely with systems engineers, product owners, and
subject-matter experts to deliver mission-critical software. Write
clean, maintainable, well-tested code and actively participate in
code reviews and engineering best-practice initiatives.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize system performance under strict
latency and reliability constraints. Take full ownership of
features from concept through deployment and ongoing support in
operational environments. Continuously evaluate and integrate new
technologies to improve performance, reliability, and development
velocity. Preferred Qualifications Experience with modern front-end
frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular). Hands-on experience with
containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
practices. Background optimizing high-performance, distributed, or
real-time systems. Exposure to AI/ML techniques applied to sensor
data, tracking, or decision-support systems. Prior work on missile
defense programs (e.g., THAAD, Patriot, GMD, or similar C2
systems). Soft Skills & Attributes Proactive, self-driven, and able
to take ownership in a fast-moving, mission-critical environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous
attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to both
